About Us

WovenHomes Design was founded by longtime friends Csilla Domotor and Gail Hvidsten.

Our friendship began at the Rhode Island School of Design in the early 1990s, where we earned our BFAs and developed the design perspective that guides our work today. From those formative years grew not only our design foundations, but also a friendship and creative partnership that continues to define our work.

Beyond our extensive hands-on design experience, we bring personal understanding to the transitions we support. We’ve guided our own parents through the emotional process of leaving long-time homes (states away) to move closer to family.

As mothers raising families of our own, we understand the layers of care, responsibility, and love involved in these moments.

At WovenHomes, we combine thoughtful design with compassion and lived experience—helping families create homes that honor the past while embracing what’s next.
